Skateboarding & subculture: summer nights in Tbilisi

Summer nights bring Tbilisi to life with energy and excitement. For me, this period is associated with friends, exploring the streets and immersing myself in a vibrant culture, which is another chance for self-expression and connecting with like-minded souls. On such evenings, my friends and I sometimes grab our skateboards and go out into the streets - the rough sidewalks and alleys of Tbilisi are the perfect prerequisite for urban adventures, and I feel the freedom and excitement at such a time that I can't even put it into words.

Skateboarding is not just a hobby; It is a way of life - a subculture that is deeply rooted in the urban fabric of Tbilisi. For me, the process is like pushing boundaries and exploring one's own path, both on and off the street. While walking in the city, I sometimes observe people, their jewelry, or accessories, and I am once again convinced that urban style has no limits. With the help of gothic silver rings, piercings, chokers or earrings, people inspired by completely different stories are looking for a way to express who they are, what they believe and where they come from.

Inspired by this observation, my friend and I, while walking in the park one hot summer evening, decided to identify strangers based only on the accessories they chose, and then ask them if our findings were correct. From delicate silver rings to piercings and chokers, it turned out that each piece of jewelry actually spoke volumes about its wearer, and in most cases, our conclusions were correct.

This experiment convinced me that there is a deep connection between jewelry and personal identity; I discovered that accessories are symbols of our experiences and aspirations; I realized that it's not just about fashion, it's more like telling a story, and here in Tbilisi, a city surrounded by ever-changing urban culture and style, jewelry is a powerful tool for self-discovery and connections with others.

As night falls, when the city lights begin to twinkle, and a strange urban spirit awakens in the streets, I feel grateful; I stubbornly continue to explore new places and cultures and look forward to discovering even more ways to express myself and connect with the world. My travels - the streets of Tokyo, the clubs of Berlin, and many other adventures (which I will surely tell you about) - have been a whirlwind of inspiration and discovery. And now, here, on the streets of Tbilisi, among friends and skateboarders, I feel at home. That's why I decided to walk through the streets of Tbilisi during the hot and chaotic nights of this summer and fearlessly follow the next chapter of my journey - wherever it may lead me!!!
